1. Explain why acute care facilities should have antimicrobial stewardship programs and why pharmacists should be in a leadership role and how pharmacy technicians can participate.

2. Define the different components of an antimicrobial stewardship program and the outcomes they are designed to influence.

3. Give an example of a specific antimicrobial stewardship intervention that has been shown to improve a measurable outcome.
