September 2012 - Bone & Joint Disease

Who:    All pharmacy staff and students from the Midland-Bay-Saginaw area are invited.  This program is accredited only for pharmacist CE credit.
What:   We will be reviewing 4 articles exploring the role of the pharmacist in bone and joint disease.

 OBJECTIVES
After attending this program, the participant should be able to:
  • Identify antihypertensive medications that exacerbate gout and suggest an appropriate alternative.
  • Discuss patient preference and adherence of denosumab compared to alendronate.
  • Discuss the risk of falls and hip fractures in elderly patients receiving psychotropic therapy.
  • Classify the potential role of tofacitinib in rheumatoid arthritis therapy.

This first-time offering of the program in its entirety has been approved for 1 hour of live continuing education credit (0.1 CEUs) in states that recognize ACPE approved providers.  To receive credit for the program, the participant must complete a quiz and fill out and submit a Continuing Education Credit Request Form and an Evaluation Form at the conclusion of the program.  Statements of Credit will be e-mailed to participants 4 – 6 weeks following the program.
